New York, USA; 9th April 2025: Cytora, the leading digital risk processing platform, has partnered with Vāyuh, a AI-driven weather forecast and climate change analytics company.
The collaboration will enable the integration of Vāyuh’s climate and weather data models directly into Cytora’s platform. This will equip property insurance underwriters with the analytics and risk scores they need to better assess and manage climate and weather-related risks.
Rising losses from natural disasters that were once considered ‘secondary perils’, such as wildfires and severe storms is now a major concern for property insurers. This has necessitated the application of more powerful solutions to accurately assess the evolving risk of properties across the US. Vāyuh, which is renowned for its expertise in harnessing artificial intelligence to assess risk exposure at the property level, offers comprehensive climate risk models that account for all factors impacting a property's value and its susceptibility to natural disasters.
Vāyuh uses thousands of different sources, across millions of locations to create granular views of risk. It combines this data with physics and generative AI to produce highly accurate forecasts and risk models including temperature, wildfire, precipitation, wind and severe connective storm weather risk.
By uniting Cytora’s AI-driven risk processing and Vāyuh rich data sources, underwriters will benefit from automated risk enrichment, reduced manual workload, and improved decision-making accuracy. Insurers will be able to optimize their workflows, minimize underwriting delays, and increase profitability through more precise risk selection.
The partnership is the latest in a series of integrations Cytora has secured as part of its mission to build one of the most comprehensive insurance data ecosystems in the world.
Juan de Castro, COO of Cytora, said: “We are committed to empowering insurers with the most advanced tools for assessing and managing risks. One of the most pressing challenges insurers face is adapting their approach in the face of increasingly destructive extreme weather events. Our partnership with Vāyuh equips insurers with a powerful new resource for understanding and mitigating climate and weather-related risks.”
Dr. Mayur Mudigonda, CEO of Vāyuh, said: “There is an obvious change in the frequency and intensity of extreme events such as hurricanes, hail storms, wildfires, and more. These changes are currently not well reflected on insurance books making the entire market quite vulnerable to catastrophes. At Vayuh, our goal is to help everyone understand their catastrophic risk better. We do this by bringing our deep understanding of AI and Physics to modeling risk”.
